Advocacy on children's rights which involves monitoring legislation and policy and its implementation. Developed and synthesized comment by Childline on proposed legislation and a number of policy documents:

• The Children’s Bill;
• The Child Justice Bill;
• The Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Amendment Bill;
• National Policy on Families (Department of Social Development);
• Comment on the Inter-Governmental Relations Bill (Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Public Administration);
• An IDASA monograph on “A Review of Policy Development, Budgeting and Service Delivery”;
• A book manuscript on abuse for use in schools (Private Publisher);
• The Social Service Delivery Policy Document (Department of Social Development);
• The National Policy on Financial Awards for Social Service Delivery (Department of Social Development);
• Orphans and Vulnerable Children Strategy Document (Department of Social Development);
• Minimum Standards for Victim Care (Department of Justice);

Some of the Childline Offices also offer:

1. Court preparation services. This is offered to abused children who have to testify in criminal court.

2. Safe emergency care. This is offered to children in need of immediate removal.

3. Training of other professionals who in the course of their work may come into contact with children who have suffered abuse and neglect.

4. Offender rehabilitation. This programme addresses the offending behaviour of children and adults who have committed offences against children.
