So many of South Africa’s children are being orphaned. This means that many of our children have to carry the burden of looking after their family. Children are even leaving school so that they can find work and get money for their family. Did you know that there is help out there? Children are afforded many rights in the Constitution.

The most important of these are welfare rights, which deal with food, shelter, health care and education. These are parents’ responsibilities until they are no longer able to provide. Then it becomes the government’s responsibility.
